Tortola Beaches
Tortola's beaches draw the tourist and keep the natives. The untouched natural quality of the beaches makes them so unique and incredible.
The north coast is where most of the great beaches reside:
Cane Garden Bay: A long strand of perfect white sand along the Northwest coast. This is the most popular beach and has plenty of watersports facilities, restaurants and bars. It's a great evening location as well.
Long Bay on Beef Island, near the airport. There are some houses and resorts along the east side, but the western end is quiet and tranquil. Perfect for walking because it's almost a mile long.
Apple Bay Beach is the surfing center, along near Long Bay. Bomba's Surfside Shack, a great nightlife place, sits along Apple Bay.
Smugglers Cove sits along the western end of Tortola. This clear and calm stretch of beach also has good snorkeling. It's harder to get to - wear your shoes rather than sandals - but is usually very quiet.
Elizabeth Beach on the eastern end, facing Anegada is a more natural, wild state beach. . At the east end: one of the widest beaches in the islands. Not to be confused with
Lambert Bay, also called Elizabeth Bay, along the north shore is another decent spot.
Josiah's Bay: We've heard reports that this is a perfectly quiet spot, but have not been there. Next trip!
Snorkeling? Head to Brewer's Bay. Smuggler's Cove, Cane Garden Bay, and Brewer's Bay
